Resolve to not be the average person who gains 7 to 10 pounds during the holidays!\u00a0 By drinking water before meals, can help you feel full sooner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Replace the green bean casserole with:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Green Beans with Shallots<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup olive oil<br \/>\n4 large shallots, peeled and quartered<br \/>\n2 Tbsp. reduced-sodium chicken broth<br \/>\n2 lbs. green beans, trimmed<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> \u00a0Bring a large pot of water to a boil.<br \/>\n<strong>2.<\/strong>\u00a0 While water is heating, pour olive oil into a large saut\u00e9 pan over medium heat. Add shallots. Reduce heat to medium-low and saut\u00e9 until shallots are soft, about 10 minutes. Add chicken broth, 3\/4 teaspoon salt, and 1\/4 teaspoon pepper; stir well. Remove from heat.<br \/>\n<strong>3.<\/strong>\u00a0 Add green beans to boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and toss beans with shallot mixture.
