National Physical Fitness and Sports Month is a great time to spread the word about the benefits of getting active.<\/p>\n<p>Here are just a few benefits of physical activity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Children and adolescents<\/strong> \u2013 Physical activity can improve muscular fitness, bone health, and heart health.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adults<\/strong> \u2013 Physical activity can lower the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some types of cancer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Older adults<\/strong> \u2013 Physical activity can lower the risk of falls and improve cognitive functioning (like learning and judgment skills).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Communities, health professionals, and families can work together to create opportunities for everyone to get more physical activity.\u00a0Make a difference\u2013spread the word about fun ways to get moving!<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How can National Physical Fitness and Sports Month make a difference?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>We can use this month to raise awareness about the benefits of physical activity.\u00a0Here are just a few ideas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Encourage families to make small changes, like taking a walk after dinner or going for a bike ride.<\/li>\n<li>Motivate teachers and administrators to make physical activity a part of every student\u2019s day.<\/li>\n<li>Identify youth leaders in the community who can talk to their peers about the importance of being active.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>How can I help spread the word?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/healthfinder.gov\/nho\/MayAnnounce.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Add information about physical activity to your newsletter.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/healthfinder.gov\/nho\/maytoolkit.aspx#tweets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tweet about National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/healthfinder.gov\/nho\/maytoolkit.aspx#getinvolved\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Host a community event where families can be active and learn about more family-friendly fitness activities.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/healthfinder.gov\/nho\/nhoBadges.aspx#may\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Add this Web badge to your website, blog, or social networking profile<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At Live Your Life<sup>TM<\/sup>, we can help you achieve your health and fitness goals!
