The business philosopher Jim Rohn once said, \u201cLearn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. If you work hard on your job you\u2019ll make a living, if you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune.\u201d1<\/sup><\/p>\n

The Main Question<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you want to make a living or a fortune?\u00a0 (BTW \u2013 This is about more than money.)<\/p>\n

The Hamster-Wheel Trap<\/strong><\/p>\n

The problem for most of us is that we\u2019ve grown so accustomed to life\u2019s hamster wheel that we don\u2019t take opportunities for self-reflection and self-improvement.\u00a0 We fall into the hamster-wheel trap.<\/p>\n

Every day we hop on the hamster wheel, spinning around for eight plus hours a day thinking we\u2019ve done something significant.\u00a0 Sure, we\u2019re sweaty.\u00a0 Sure, people think we\u2019ve got good form.\u00a0 Sure, we accomplished our task.\u00a0 But we haven\u2019t moved.<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t break this cycle until we intentionally jump off the hamster wheel and decide what we really want in our lives.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBe x Do = Have\u201d Formula2<\/sup><\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201cBe x Do = Have\u201d formula gives us a starting place for making change in our life.\u00a0 Ultimately, if we follow this simple formula we will find success in any endeavor that we pursue.<\/p>\n

The first step is to decide what you want to have from your life \u2013 or your business, or your relationships, or your health.\u00a0 The key here is to be really clear on what you want.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not enough to say that you want a lot of money.\u00a0 How much money do you need, exactly?\u00a0 How exactly do you want your relationships to look?\u00a0 What exactly does your health look like?<\/p>\n

Clarity gives you direction.\u00a0 Clarity informs your decisions.\u00a0 Ultimately, clarity on what you want will determine who you need to be.<\/p>\n

When you look at your list of wants (i.e., dreams and desires), can you see yourself in possession of them?\u00a0 Are you the type of person who has those things?\u00a0 If not, who do you have to be?<\/p>\n

Interestingly, \u201cDo\u201d is the easiest part of this formula.\u00a0 Our doing flows from who we are.\u00a0 Once we\u2019ve made the switch in our minds to the type of person we need to be, the right actions will begin to flow and we will more easily and swiftly move in the direction of our dreams and desires.<\/p>\n

Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Remember, your success in life depends on your ability to work on yourself.\u00a0 Start with the \u201cBe x Do = Have\u201d formula to pull you off the hamster wheel.\u00a0 Intentionally choose your direction and you\u2019ll be making progress.<\/p>\n
