We want to take the time in this blog to simply say MERRY CHRISTMAS! May your life be filled with special moments and be filled with happiness unlike anything you have ever imagined.
Working Out – Did you know that working out (at any level) actually releases dopamine which thereby creates a feeling of euphoria? Make time for your workout. It will help the holiday stresses go away. You could also simply bundle up and take a walk, play a game of hide and seek in the house or use a big ball of gift wrap to play volley ball inside with the gang. Get those hearts pumping!
Fun Get-Togethers – Sure, we always gather family and friends during the holidays but this year really “gather”
them! Get them involved in doing fun things like playing games. It can be a techy Christmas – download the free app “Heads Up®” (made famous by comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres), play an old fashioned game like Twister, or find a video or Wii game that gets you all up and moving and see if you don’t end up having a laughing good time.
Healthy Eating – While we say we love that feeling of being full and stuffed, the truth is overeating tends to make us lethargic. Add to the fact that your stomach generally isn’t used to these large amounts of unhealthy foods and you can suffer from all kinds of stomach problems. Instead, buy your family a nice locally made fresh fruit basket that looks festive and beautiful; dive into fresh fruits instead of eating candies and cookies for a week or more!
Be Kind – No matter what the time of year is we should practice being kind to others. Do something kind for someone, a random act of kindness; you will be amazed at how YOU feel, not to mention the recipient feels wonderful too.
This year put aside all of your worries, your anger, your own hurt feelings from the past and look ahead to a better, happier future. Make this Christmas THE MERRIEST CHRISTMAS you’ve ever had by enjoying the actions that make this season so very special, instead of the “things”.
